Swiss Music Prize winner, drummer, musician, composer, and producer Christophe Calpini has been developing projects in Switzerland and beyond for over twenty years. A pioneer of Swiss hip-hop alongside Silent Majority, he has explored the electronic music of Mobile in Motion (with Marc Ribot), ranging from electro-jazz with STADE (BigDada/NinjaTune) alongside Pierre Audétat, to the soul-rock of Dog Almond. His collaborations have also included work with Alain Bashung, Rodolphe Burger, Erik Truffaz, OY, and Pascal Auberson.
A meticulous and inspired sonic wizard, this hyperactive Vaudois artist loves to sculpt and experiment with sound, as evidenced by his latest albums “OKT4V” and “Motion Sickness,” which feature collaborations with several singers and musicians. These include Lyn M, the Geneva-based singer from ELVETT (formerly Aloan), the Franco-Swiss trumpeter Erik Truffaz, and the French singer Rodolphe Burger, with whom Calpini continues to tour and work on new projects. 2022 promises even more magical compositions, so stay tuned!
